Dr. Shae Hicks is a Birmingham native who grew up helping care for her family's horses, dogs, and cats. She knew she wanted to devote her life to improving animal welfare through that upbringing.
Dr. Hicks attended Huntingdon College studying Biology and Fine Arts and playing collegiate volleyball. Upon leaving Huntingdon College, she attended Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine from 2005-2009, where she was named Best Internal Medicine Student of 2009. Dr. Hicks maintains a particular interest in internal medicine and ultrasonography.
Dr. Hicks and her husband, Scott Register, live in Vestavia Hills where they raise their two daughters, five-year-old Radda and one-year-old Luca. Her family also includes two dogs, Albert and Aubry, and two cats, Monet and Dottie. Dr. Hicks has served on Shelby Humane Society's board of directors and is a member of JCVMA. She enjoys chasing after her two kids, yoga, painting, and reading in her spare time.
